‘Interweave’ : A Solo Show by Aditi Hazra

Aditi Hazra’s hand-painted paper cut-outs can be interpreted to depict a playful dance, a ritualistic ceremony, a puppet show, or all of the above.
The colourful and animated silhouettes, although seemingly expression-less, have so much energy and life within them as they weave themselves within each other, arm looping around arm, leg twisting against leg. They are fluid and light and are floating on the page, ready to spill out into the tangible world.

Aditi says “Rooted in oral traditions and the stories my parents, grandmothers, and relatives shared, my work captures the essence of transient moments through intricate paper compositions. I draw inspiration from Indian and Japanese philosophies of impermanence, reflecting themes of renewal and the passage of time”

‘Interweave’ is on view at Gallery Time and Space from March 15th 2025 – March 22nd, 2025 , 11am – 7pm (closed on Mondays)
